You might find this hard to believe but I’ve spent the hours after England’s fabulous victory in Kiev battling against the doom-mongers who can only find negativity in our thrilling performance.
What is wrong with these people. Texts, tweets and e-mails have been hitting my machine with the most ridiculous messages. The “ne’er do-gooders” seem to have three principle complaints.
1. The Swedish team was the weakest we have seen for 30 years.
2. Theo Walcott’s performance was just a freak of nature.
3. Wayne Rooney won’t be worth his place against the Ukraine.
