PDC Darts star Michael van Gerwen was at The Porters Lodge in London on Monday night to officially announce his sponsorship with Bodugi.com - and was joined by personalities from the world of Horse Racing to help raise funds for the Injured Jockeys Fund and the Darts charity 'Heart of Darts'.
Racing personalities such as Channel 4 presenters Nick Luck and Tanya Stevenson, along with National Hunt Jockeys including Richie Killoran, Sam Jones, and AP Cawley were pitted against the PDC World Championship finalist. Each of their scores were converted to cash to be donated to the I.J.F ...
In the old days I remember walking down my road to the station whistling the theme to The Great Escape in anticipation of three nights on the lash up in York.
I am probably too old now for the revolving dance floor in the reflex 80’s bar but York has a way of making you feel younger especially if your are walking down Micklegate with a few quid in your pocket.
If you like pubs as I do York is certainly the place and I have heard it said that up to 200 are contained within the city walls ...
The annual live version of “Take me out “ takes place of over the next three days at Chester’s meeting with 100s of ladies, looking as if they’ve either been “Tangoed” or are suffering first-degree burns desperate to get swept off their feet by a Liverpool or Man Utd footballer.
No amount of rain will stop the girls turning up in little more than a silk handkerchief, held together with a small length of dental floss. The accents are unmistakeable, but the girls are definitely educated up there as I have never seen a misspelled tattoo yet!

It has been raining all morning round the country, and that is only going to help my selection in a tricky day’s racing at Cheltenham. Arbeo runs in the 4.20 at Cheltenham and looks sure to love the ground and the step up in trip. There’s already been plenty ...
Exeter is a great racetrack and I love going there, but if you want to go racing to actually watch the horseracing then this probably isn’t the track for you. I usually managed to back winners there though so even though I could not see the race I could see the right number go up for the official result which usually made the journey from London worthwhile.
The forecast is cloudy with wind and rain today apparently, and Haldon hill is certainly an experience only for those with a strong constitution on such days.
If the rain really does ...
In 17 years of punting full time on the track I never managed to have a winning year at Royal Windsor Racecourse despite on one extremely wet Monday backing two 33-1 winners on the spin! This feat was made even more satisfying by the fact that I backed both of them with Barry Dennis who was so annoyed that he started barking like a dog at his joint and pretending to be sick when he paid me out.
I once made a promise to myself never to go there again but it is such a terrific track for a social ...
